Probably the most common in the digital planning sphere on YouTube and TikTok. Any of the iPads on the market today will meet the criteria of a good planner/creative iPad. As long as it is compatible with the Apple Pencil, any model will work.
In fact, even an older iPad can work, you can always connect it to a third-party stylus such as one from Metapen etc!
In fact, I have one from Simbans, a cheap android tablet, and digital planning with a regular stylus works just fine!
Many people think there is no good options of note-taking apps for android, but I find Penly and NoteWise two very good equivalents to GoodNotes or whatever app you use on iPad.
A little bit less popular, but I think it's fantastic, actually: to plan on a paper tablet or e-ink device such as ReMarkable tablets, Boox devices, Kobo Ecplipsa/Libra Colour, etc. Just make sure you have a stylus that works with your tablet.
This is probably my favourite way to plan, because the battery life is fantastic on e-ink/paper tech due to the e-ink screen compared to regular tablets like the ipad or any android tablet! It hols up for weeks (!) instead of like two days maximum on the iPad.
However, customization and stickers are harder to do and access on these devices and it's therefore more suitable writing rather than visual planning!
Lists of good note-taking apps! I don't personally use all of these, but I've tested all of them out and I know they're very popular. Although, of course, they each have their pros and cons, and some apps will suit some people more than others and vise versa.
